Product drops
Included on Pro.
A dropDropA job that switches products from draft to Active at one launch time, and optionally back to draft at the end. switches products from draft to Active at a time you pick, all at once. It is the job you use for a new collection, a limited release or a collaboration, where everything must appear at the same minute.
Draft or teaser
Hidden: the product stays in draft. Coming soon: it shows a countdown and no buy button.
Set to Active
Every product goes active at the same minute and the teaser is cleared.
Read back
Each product is checked for Active and on the Online Store, and retried if not.
Back to draft
Products that were not active before go back to draft.
Two ways to wait for launch
| Mode | Before launch | At launch |
|---|---|---|
| Hidden until launch | Products stay in draft. Shoppers cannot find them. | They go Active on the Online Store. |
| Coming soon | Products are visible with a countdown and no buy button. | The countdown turns into “Available now” and the button comes back. |
One-time setup
- 1
Add the countdown block
Only needed for Coming soon. On Drops, press Add to product template. The theme editor opens with the Easy Launch block ready to place. Save the theme. The block stays invisible on products without a drop.
- 2
Allow publishing (optional)
Press Allow publishing and approve it in Shopify. Then, if a product is not on the Online Store at launch, Easy Launch publishes it there. Without it, turn on the Online Store channel for each product yourself.
Schedule a drop
- 1
Name it
Go to Drops → Schedule a drop and give it a name the team will recognise.
- 2
Pick the mode
Hidden until launch or Coming soon.
- 3
Pick products
Each product shows its status now. Select drafts ticks every draft in one go. Archived products are left alone.
- 4
Set the time
Choose the launch time. Turn on End the drop to put products back to draft at an end time, for a limited release.
- 5
Schedule
Press Schedule drop. Anything that would stop it is listed as a failing point first.
After launch
- Each product is read back from Shopify to check it is Active and on the Online Store. The result shows on the drop, for example “Verified: 12 of 12 products live”.
- Anything that did not stick is retried twice, then listed product by product with what Shopify has now.
- When the drop ends, only products that were not active before it go back to draft. Products that were already active stay active.
- Launch now and End now on the drop page do the same thing straight away.
| Plan | Active drops | Products per drop |
|---|---|---|
| Grow | 3 | 25 |
| Pro | 10 | Unlimited |
The countdown does not show
Check the drop uses Coming soon, the block is on the product template of the published theme, and the theme was saved. It only appears before the launch time.
A product is Active but shoppers cannot see it
It is not on the Online Store channel. Turn the channel on for it, or press Allow publishing so future drops do it for you.
Can a drop be part of a campaign?
Yes, on Pro. On the campaign page press Schedule a drop, and it shows on the brief, timeline and report with the other jobs.
